I attended the G-Shock 25th anniversary party in NYC last night, with big names like Spike Lee and Kanye West in attendance. Not only was Kanye West there but, he gave a mini-concert and boy, was it bonkers.

Issey Miyake Peeks Into the Future

Issey Miyake is the conductor of a new multimedia exhibition XX1st Century Man, that is now being shown in Japan. He has assembled works by famed sculptor James Hawkinson and the late great Isamu Noguchi on the topics of the environment, fashion, design, and architecture.
The exhibit runs through July 6, 2008, at 21_21 Design Sight
China Needs You Too!
Hiroshi Fujiwara reports that they will probably be releasing a Fragment Design x Nike Tennis Classic “Panda” pack, which will be auctioned off and proceeds will be donated to the victims of the earthquake. The panda was chosen as the main inspiration for the pack, as it stands for China and more importantly one of the main panda regions of China has been hit by the earthquake.
This is a similar action to the auction held for Niigata. At the time they had made a pack of HTM Air Force 1’s.
There is not set date yet for the auction as the incident just happened, nevertheless Fujiwara already gives us a first look at the sneakers.
Help out and support this cause. We all need each other, even on a world-wide scale.
The Method: Marcus Brooks
I recently met a young designer who makes custom-designed clothes and he’s pretty damn good at it. I want you to meet 17 year old, Marcus Brooks. What stood out about this guy is that he has a great sense of style and a great deal of creativity at an early age. He has a plan and knows where he wants to go. Marcus and I had a conversation about his love of art, fashion and his one-of -a-kinds.

8 Glasses of Water? Doc Says No!
Nutritionists, doctors, trainers, and grandmothers alike all will tell you that you need to drink a lot of water, at least 8 glasses….right? Well, Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, a co-author and a professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, says “drinking extra water is unnecessary”.
